Exclamation 2020 Ultra - 8 Trouble codes out of nowhere??

Hi all

I have searched for something similar in threads and don't see it, so I hope someone can offer suggestions. I will take to dealer on Tuesday for their help.

Bike runs fine, alternator gauge looks good- Info screen on radio indicates all OK- no indicators there.

Visible warnings
  • Noticed engine light on- on highway at 70MPH - checked everything on screens looked good - Bike running perfect
  • With 15 minutes TC ABS indication light came one & Red security LED
Pulled over in a parking lot- looked at the bike- just a visual check- noting out of order. Pulled diagnostic codes and continued ride towards home. (Reset codes & the reappeared after 15-20 minutes)

ABS C1100H

BCM C0077H - 62151H - 62156H - 62310 H

ECM P1100H - U0001H (CanBus error) - U2087H

Does anyone have a list that shows these - I googed it and got the CanBus.

* Only recent change was addition of J&M CB Antenna Upgrade kit with braided ground straps.

https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-29661-...ble-codes.html Use the tabs to switch the different types of codes, P,C,B & U

Those all look to be historical codes with the "H" at the end. Are you sure you cleared them?

Remove the braided ground straps, clear the codes; see if the issue returns. CANBUS systems can be very fussy with voltage levels.

Dealership to document.
It may just be a freak thing and meaningless. Dealer will clear the codes and wait to see if they return. They will not likely do any father diagnostic digging. Unless they come back this is why you want to have it documented. You do not have to remove anything to clear code but don't do it let them. In time after some restarts the warning will go away but code will remain as Historic.

Default Update... ongoing

Thanks all

1. Yes I’m sure I cleared all... by now I’ve done it 4 separate times

2. the dealer did EXACTLY what you said, reset codes And said I should be ok. 20 minutes later all codes back

they said I could bring bike back, but they didn’t seem at all confident the result would be different.

They also suggested it could be the additions of Custom Dynamics lights (fairing trim and tour pack turn signals) they sounds like they are fishing

3. I am dedicating today to removal of ground strap and investigating other possible solutions. (Double checking all other connections.)

I really appreciate your tips!!

Put the stock lights back in and see if the codes reset. If not put the oem antenna back on and try again.

If it is the lights call CD they are a great company to work with.

Seems less than logical sometimes but check your battery cables to make sure they are tight. I've had loose terminals do some pretty funky things and set codes.

I agree, great place to start troubleshooting.
