Still new to this but looking through the owners manual, it talks about security system operation.
Question, how do I tell if I even have a security system??
When I purchased the bike from a previous owner, I received one key only.
Owners manual mentions a fob, I don't have one.
I know that I can lock the forks to the left with the key. Is that all the security I have.
BTW this is a 2002 EG Classic
If no fob it's doubtful you have an alarm. One way to confirm is to turn your ignition on, then back off. Do the directional lights flash? If yes, you have alarm, if no, then nope, no alarm.
If you don't have a FOB and the bike doesn't require you to enter a PIN then you don't have a security system on the bike. The only security you have is operated by your key; the ignition and the fork lock.

That may help if the bike left the factory with a security system. But a security system can be added to a bike that comes from the factory without one.

that would be true for the 07 and newer proximity fob type security. but the op has an 02. it is possible that the previous owner would have disabled the alarm, and just kept the fob in a drawer at the house and didn't give it to the buyer. but, it's entirely possible that the bike does not have security either.
Thanks guys, I'm thinking it does not have anything except fork lock.
As stated I'm still new to biking and this bike.
I tried the switch on/off and the lights don't flash.
