I had a look at that thread and it def sounds like it is a fairly common issue
I’m going to check on the recall that others have mentioned as well, then go from there. I’m looking to change handlebars soon and I’d like to get this resolved before jumping into that project.
How I cured my 17 RK, didn't work, dealer wouldn't replace it because they couldn't duplicate the problem. Acted up again on the ride home. Put a drop of lube on the plunger and haven't had an issue since.

Thanks TZB...I’m gonna try that.
Earlier I stated that I couldn’t get to the plunger....well I should have looked more closely.....I had a second look in the daylight and easily found it.
And the problem is still intermittent dang it. Comes & goes.
My 2015 had the same intermittent no-start-in-gear issue. Nothing I tried, including taking apart the switch pack and lubricating it, would resolve it until I replaced the entire switch pack (about $120).

What did you use for lube?
3-1 oil or tri flow, anything like that, used a Qtip.
