Default Repaint or replace?

Well, as my old man used to say “this is why we can’t have nice things”

bought a brand new 2021 road glide with the snake venom paint, love it. But of course after riding for almost 20 years, I finally tipped one over, in my own driveway!!! I know, get your laughs in now.

now for the question, never had to have stock paint repainted. Have now scuffs in one bag/lid/latch and in a corner of fairing/inner fairing. The obvious for the inner fairing is to just get the vivid black and replace, question is about the Harley custom paint.. can this be repaired and repainted or do I need to replace the whole fairing and bag through Harley to get the paint right??

Can see part of lid latch in this image and obvious scuff in bag corner

Anything can be repaired and repainted. The question will be how much downtime and cost when compared with replacement.

Who hasn't layed a bike down at least once? It sucks, but **** happens.
Why not just get an estimate for repairs and compare cost and time?
In the meantime, ride that "broke" in beauty!

Sorry this happened. I know it sucks.

My dealer used a local paint shop to have my Ultra Limited bag and lower fairing touched up when my bike was in for repairs after I had an accident.

Of course, Snake Venom paint is probably a lot more complicated paint than mine, but it's worth a shot to call your dealer and ask. Good luck!

I would file a claim , because it is so new. I would ask that all pieces be replaced with new. With year and damage I would want it back perfect.

Harley should sell the factory paint through the dealer, if u decided to have it painted. Good luck with repairs. It happens to everyone sooner or later.

agree with svarnster.

i think that a local painter is going to have a hard time with the color match on the snake venom paint. and you're going to find that paint color is going to be a lot like my cvo was. outrageously expensive to replace parts. i had to replace a front fender after hitting a deer. $1100 just for the fender, no labor.

there's a reason why i have a vivid black bike now.

(these prices are from surdyke)

We've all done it, sucks. May want to make an insurance claim on that as prices are going to add up fast. I'm surprise the front engine gaurd didn't protect the fairing.

That’s an easy fix. Go into your nearest Paint and Body Shop and tell them the color. It’s all on their computer. I just had one of my bags and front fender repainted for $500. They came out perfect.
