I have a 2007 Ultra Classic Touring . Decided to change plugs today because it had been 5,000 plus miles. I live like 50 miles from my Harley dealer so I called and asked what plugs can I cross reference my original 6r12 with.
His reply was if you use anything other that that because of the resistance level only that plug provides, that your bikes check engine light will come on and it will run bad.
The Ion sensing system in the older bikes is finicky when it comes to plug wires, but as far as plugs go, outside of going a heat range in either direction, any listed interchange will work
Personally I use the HD plugs or a Champion equivalent
There is no need for an exotic plug material as we change them long before they wear out in most cases.
IMHO same goes for multi tipped plugs.
