Finally the real Steve comes out. I've enjoyed reading your past build project updates. I can't wait this one to start. Do I hear 115/115?

Not sure what I'm going to do. Might stick with the 0034G's, but bump up the compression to around 10-1 and put in the releases. The 0034's have a lot of potential with added compression, they have a chart on the HQ site of them with around 10.5-1 and it puts out a lot of power.

I wonder if replacing the stock battery cables would help at all?

I can get the "yooper" cables for $39 for the set, supposed to make a big difference in the current flow to the starter.

I was looking at the Spyke bolt-on compression releases, but it doesn't look like they are made for the Twin Cam heads. Does anyone know if they will work with the Twin Cam heads, or are they only for Evo & Shovel heads?

I recently measured my CCP, and it came in at 190 f/r on a luke warm engine.

I'm happy with my build, but the hard hot-restarts are driving me nuts.

Before you go through all of this, have you checked the battery? It could be a cell going bad.

Battery is fine.............and all cables are tight.

It's hot restarts.................heat soaking. I need to release the compression on the restarts........that's why I'm looking for compression releases.

I had Compression releases installed at build. Even with this, went through a HD 1.4kW starter.

I think some of the problem was timing as well. Used HD race tuner (carb) & a 1.7kW starter.

No problem since. Starts every time without hestiation. been 2 years.

For what its worth.

103

PS although I have a 103, my comp is 9.7:1, I believe.
