Default Low speed wobble

I have a 2021 CVO Ultra Limited. At 30 mph or less the front wobbles if I loosen my grip or take my hands off the bars. Dealer said I had too much weight on my saddle bags. They are below the max weight, empty your pack and no passenger so I think they are incorrect.

I'm thinking possibly the front tire isn't balanced. Just want to see if anyone has any other things to check.

Bike is 4 months old and has 5000 miles on it.

Steering head bearing. Check for knocking or clunking when braking. If you can get the bike off the ground grab the lower forks and give a good solid tug and feel for play and listen for a rattle or clunk.

Might also be wheel bearings (but they would have to be really bad in order for you to feel it while moving vs. hearing it when pushing the bike or spinning the wheel). While the front of the bike is off the ground grab the tire from opposite sides (the top and bottom or front and back) and try and see if there is any side-to-side play.

Check for tightness on the axle and triple tree fork clamp bolts

Rotate the front wheel and make sure it spins true.

I’ve noticed the same for my ‘19 CVO Limited while running cruise control at low speeds with no hands. Hadn’t really thought too hard about it, but since you brought it up I guess I’ll have to look into it.

This is with nothing in the tour pack or side bags.

Seeing that the bike is a 2021, I would be VERY surprised if the head bearings had any play in them by now. BUT, they could still be the culprit. It has been my experience they can cause that condition if they are TOO TIGHT as well. Put a set of head bearings in one of my bikes and it did the same thing. Did NOT want to go straight. I read up on it, loosened them up just a touch, and it all went away.

That said, has the bike done this from the beginning or is this a new condition?

Take everything out of the saddle bags and see if it still does it.
If it does take it back to the shop and tell them to fix it.
You paid a premium price for that bike and it shouldn't be doing that.

Definitely.....TIRE PRESSURE.....

Last year, my 2015 Ultra Limited suddenly started to feel "strange" on corners (just a little wobbly). My new second set of tires were only 500 miles old at the time. Rode it to my dealer and as they pulled it into the shop a large SCREW was seen in between the rear tire's tread and the tire while not visibly "flat" had very low pressure. One new rear tire later......all is perfect.

Check TIRE PRESSURE and PUNCTURES!!!

The newer bikes have TPMS, FYI, and in my case the pressures are spot on. Not sure about the OP.
