Harley had a recall on 02 ultras for one of the relays overheating and shutting down, once it cooled it would work again. they changed them out and the problem went away. When the relay shuts off the rest of the lights would stay on but you would not be able to start the bike. It would shut down anytime it felt like it and it might restart on the first try or you would have to wait 10 minutes. they might be having the same issue again. have your dealer check his maint noticies, hopefully this helps.

Check all your grounds coming off the battery, starter, etc. Sounds like you're good until you need the starter. Sometimes they get paint under the connections when building the bike. Replace the washers with star washers that dig into the metal. If you've added any accessories and this didn't start until after you added them, check them too. Let us know what you find.

Well, got my problem resolved (I think) by Pikes Peak H-D here in Colorado Springs; they found that the positive terminal post had the screw (bolt?) installed incorrectly; they retapped it and put it back in (boils down to a loose connection that wasn't immediately visible, I guess) -- now the Electra Glide seems to be working fine. Hope you found the problem with the Ultra and that it got resolved.
