What Lefty said CarPlay wirelessly with the CPLAY2air module and iPhone... to eliminated plugging an iPhone into the USB (the CPLAY2air module plugs in to the usb).
AND, then I used Diag4Bike to do the "old hack" that the HD dealers used to be able to do with the GTS, so no headset (mic actually) required either to get CarPlay.
Leave the iPhone in my pocket, start the bike, and CarPlay connects automatically.
Thanks gents. I ordered one up. I don’t mind terribly plugging in the cable…I know it’s always getting a charge.
But…
I’ve got caught in rain twice… and the iPhone got wet and would no longer connect. Keeping it in a dry shirt pocket sure would’ve been nice for those times…
Cheers boys…. Thanks for the heads up!!
A few other things…. on my 19 limited, I hit a series of bumps..sometimes radio cuts out, wonder if this will cure/solve that.
And lastly… I’m assuming this device fits inside of the cubbyhole where the USB is. Since both you lads have Glides compared to my batwing…any idea on that one?
I've read there are 2 wireless dongles for Android Auto. One is AAWireless and the other is Carsifi. They are recent (fall of 2021) to the market and seems to work on vehicles and head units that have AndroidAuto. Haven't read anyone trying it on HD Boom GTS yet.
While I know the OP asked about Android…. I’m commenting on the air play for IOS/Apple.
mine just arrived yesterday, simple as simple could be.
Really, really wish I would’ve known about this a long time ago.
SSI, lefty and all…thanks guys. Gonna ride this weekend, probably one of the last of the year, to see how well it works over bumps, etc compared to the cable.

Good for you! Just an FYI, only time I have a "connection" issue with the module is if I throw the phone in the saddlebag, sometimes it will disconnect/reconnect while riding. If I put the phone in the media compartment or my jacket pocket, its not an issue (range??)... on the one in my truck it always connects right up period. The one on the bike can be finicky if the phones in the saddlebags, and I haven't tried the tour pack so far...

I still have a holder on my bars gonna see how well it works from here. I may switch and just leave it in my jacket pocket.
I dont like the idea of tour pack or saddle bag because if its not in my pocket or line of sight, I will leave it behind. And have lol.
I was a little hesitant shipping from China. From ordering to my front door, less than 10 business days. Zero issue with that.
