Hi please does anyone have experience with a working car play adapter for the new Boom Box for Android phones so I don't have to use a cable ??

AndroidAuto is for Androids and CarPlay is for iPhones, right?

For CarPlay and iPhones
I use CPLAY2air on my bike and in my truck
https://cplay2air.com
Here's a thread on this forum talking about it...
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/new-r...oom-gts-3.html

Sorry, I know nothing about Androids

WHIM does it all.

But he doesn't want to be required to plug his phone into the bike, he wants to be able to connect wirelessly.

You’re using a cable….bike to phone.
No way to go wireless that I’m aware of.
I had Android, now IOS…I don’t believe either can connect to the bike without the cable.

You can use Bluetooth headsets wirelessly, obviously, but I”m fairly certain you need to use a USB cable to the phone of your choice.
Somebody keep me honest there.

That's my same experience...No matter which phone you have, it has to be plugged in. The cable is what tells the radio/screen to display.

Also I believe you have to have the WHIM for Android Auto to work. I've updated my firmware/software and followed all the instructions on
HD's website for getting it to work. No luck (and not a shocker either). Talked to a couple HD techs who are good friends and they told me I needed the WHIM.

I had Android auto working on my 19 with GTS, Moto G something or other, latest software on the head end.
I did not need a WHIM, still don’t have it on mine.

Full transparency, this was just for Android Auto to use Google Maps, stream via apps on my phone (Pandora, etc.)
I didn’t try any kind of headsets.

For my current Apple phone, I put the jumper in place, again, no WHIM, to use CarPlay.

USB cable used in both instances.

OK...I'll keep you honest...But actually Ssitruc already did in post #2 above
With CarPlay/iPhone you can use the following on BOOM GTS equipped bikes. Cut the cord & go wireless with the CPLAY2air adapter.

Thank you lefty. I wasn’t sure if it was available and I completely skipped over SSi’s post…. See what happens when you look at stuff on smaller screens… LOL.

Appreciate it.

No problem. Again...this is for iPhone/CarPlay and only works for BOOM GTS equipped bikes so 2019+...or earlier with the GTS retrofit. As others, I'm not familiar with Android/Android Auto
