My current Road King, 2015, has dings all over the bottom of the dash insert. I'm not sure how they got there, but it bugs the crap outta me. I"ve been searching for just a replacement insert, and NOT the entire dash, or the $300.00 HD black replacement. I like this original just fine, except for the dings that just seem to appear if you look at it wrong.
Anyone have any ideas on this? I'm sure the insert is held on with double sided tape and is fairly easy to remove with patience. But the original will be ruined in the process.
I was thinking of painting it black, but afraid it will look cheesy.
Perhaps the parts finder below will help you confirm part number.
If it is part 14100087 and if the name is insert, console then it looks to be about $53 USA dollars.
Wow, this forum is great. I did order the replacement from Ronnies. Price is much more in line with what I expected to pay.
The plain chrome is also a good option for the future.
I also believe I found out what caused the dings. Every time the wife leans forward to Nag, (or as she says, issue GUIDANCE), she wraps her arm around me with her chain purse in her hand....voila, dings. Nip that in the bud quick like.

Wife wears a Fanny Pack while on the bike. May be a little old school nerd looking, but has a cool HD logo on it (hahaha) and works great! Grabs her purse at rest stops and such.
As another follow up, thought I'd let you all know that I heard from Ronnies and it appears my new insert will be on the way shortly.
In the mean time, I pulled off the dinged one. It comes off pretty easily. I started with a small screwdriver, very small, using a large plastic zip tie to protect the chrome. I slid it under the screwdriver as I gently worked up the top right corner. Once up, I could pull it with my fingers, and then used a pair of pliers to peel it back.
The tape holding this on is pretty robust. I used goof off not wanting anything stronger that would harm the paint. Took a long while with cloth and fingernail to get the tape off. Still have to go back and clean it up some more.
The factory chrome under the stamped aluminum insert is really spectacular. I am almost considering some sort of emblem to put on there.
