I just picked up a 2010 Caddy DTS, and previous owner put an Alpine head unit in it, it supports
Sirius XM and also Android Auto which is pretty damn cool too. Also have AA in my 2018 Tahoe.

About a month ago, I got a letter from SXM to welcome me as a new user, and an offer for 1 yr at $6 a month.
I was wondering how is hell did they ever get my info to send me the offer?
When I got the car from the dealer, they told me that the previous owner has a SXM subscription and it was still active, so I never thought much about it or even tried it out other than trying it to see if it worked. The dealer must have opened a trial account in my name and gave them my info, I can't think of any other way they got it. The letter said my trial ends in Dec 15th, but I bought the car in late August, so the 3 months doesn't make sense unless they did it 3 weeks after I got the car, but it was working the day I got it. hmmm

For $6 I might give it a try, I hate monthly subscription services though.
I don't listen to tunes on the bike, I like to keep things simple when I'm riding.

I just setup the free Amazon Prime Music thing, and can play it using Android Auto over my phone.
Works great, and even has Alexa, but I don't like the idea of having an open mic in my car...
Will probably turn Alexa off.

That... Right there. Add Neener Blackwood and Keith Roth. Every channel... Blah blah blah... I'm going to give Apple one more week. So far, so good. I can stream it in the truck just as good as the bike.

Sucks in the mountains but makes up for it everywhere else. I love it.

I like Xm. In the truck it only cuts out when I pull into the garage. On the bike some days better then others, but still just a minor nuisance.
Yesterday I got a letter saying XM prices were going up $1.00/Month. That's $12.00 a year. I'll wait until renewal time, threaten to drop XM and see what happens.

Totally agree!!
I will say this, Sirius/XM is getting easier to deal with, back around 2016 I gave my pickup to my son, and it had factory radio with XM, since he listens to music on his phone I called to cancel...for 45 mins they gave me the runaround, tried to sell me a radio for the house, Blah Blah Blah, I finally yelled at the lady, and she did cancel it. I still had other radios, so it wasn't like they were loosing me as a customer. So when I called to shut off the XM on the Harley this fall I expected, the whole runaround again...nope, I was on the phone for maybe 15 mins, I was shocked.

As long as I can afford the $60-$70 per vehicle per year I will keep it. I just look at it as my cigarette money.

I have Sirius. Ya, the sound quality blows. Running an amp 6 speakers and DSR. I notice the bass is dirty sounding. I don't use Sirius much for music as I have better services on my phone or I use a thumb drive. I like live traffic and weather on navigation. I don't run a cell phone mount so its nice to have showing on the Nav Screen on the bike. I typically get pretty good reception so drop outs are not an issue.

I can't speak for the bike, but my truck came with SiriusXM. The sound quality was fine with the truck's speakers, but every single time I drive near any tall buildings, such as down city streets, drive down tree lined roads, or through mountains, the signal drops out so frequently that I give up listening to it, and just play music off my phone instead.
Now as far as a phone app for it, on your bike, that might work better than the satellite setup in the bike's radio, since a cell signal would presumably be better in the scenarios I mentioned.

Sound quality is a-ok. Up until COVID started, I spent a LOT LOT LOT LOT of time in the MTNs ALL over literally ALL OVER the USA and end to end in CA. It does not cut out often at all. And if it does, it is not cut out for long.

Funny thing my friend, 2 days ago I was on the beach of Florida east side of FL and lost the signal for a longer period of time than I ever have in the MTNs.

All 'n all my friend, in my world, the little it cuts out is insignificant. The reason I said "...in my world..." is bcs, if you happen to live in an area or summer in an area that just happens to be a bad coverage area, that could carry more weight in your decision making if you know what I mean.

The monthly cost of Sirius right now I think is SUPER cheap.
