I haven't had Sirius in several years and when I did the sound quality was pretty bad. Is it any better these days? Does it still cut out in the mountains? HD wants a hefty price for it, and I don't want to be disappointed.
Sound quality is fine for me. As far as a signal, I've been using the free app on my phone so as long as I have cell service I'm good. Doesn't drop out nearly as often as it does in my wife's Jeep using the sat signal.
Signal has always sucked in the mountains.
I canceled Sirius XM and went with YouTube Premium Music for $10 per month.
All the music you want with no talking or interruptions.
Can download albums, music mixes or just listen to the radio mix.
It has a automatic offline music mix download of music it thinks you would like based on your listening choices so you can listen when in the mountains with no cell signal.
And since it's on my phone it goes from bike to truck to office seamlessly.
I use Spotify for tunes but would love to have the satellite for the live weather maps. A bit expensive for that usage. Spotify can DL the mixes you make so when out of cell range it is no problem.
I've had it for 3 years and the cutting out part cant be avoided, but for sound quality, I'm Ok with it, never noticed it sounding bad and my new amp & speakers sound fine with it
Sound quality is fine for me. I Ike having all the different music options, but some of the DJs (Alan Hunter) rub me the wrong way. On a long and winding trip, it drops less time than I’m out of cell range. When it happens I press one button, and switch to my iPhone play list.
I have XM in my truck; never cuts in and out, unless I'm in the mountains. From that account I stream to my phone, which I use on my Road King.
I have another XM account on my Goldwing. For some reason, that one cuts in and out even on flat open ground, with no overhead obstructions, no clouds, nothing. I'm thinking about cancelling this one and just going with streaming on that bike too. I only hesitate because I like being able to run back and forth on channels when using the direct satellite signal. When it's working
