My Road King shakes rattles and rolls when highway driving...
I noticed tonight that when I get my bike on the highway and doing speeds around60 -75mph the bike seems to hop all over the place. I ruled the road ways out because they are newly paved highways. I also got a 1000 mile service so the dealership checked the tire pressure and wheel balancing etc. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I wouldhope the Road King would run a smooth as silk at those speeds; this is what it was built for.
Miles and miles of highway cruising..................

I'd guess the stock Dungflop tires, they pretty much su(k IMHO.
I have Metzlers on my 2000 EGC and it's like a rock on the hiway even at 110 mph.
Another possibilty is not enough air in the rear shocks, that will make a touring class Harley wiggle sometimes.

Gee that's funny, because my stock Dunlop's work just fine all the way up to almost 100 mph which is the fastestthat I've gone. Has it always done this since you bought it HDRoadKing?

That's just it, they're inconsistant,I've had some that were fine and others that wobbled like ****
Never had a handling issue with a Metzler but I here some of the new made in Brazil ones are not so good.
I have one of those on the back right now and it seems ok so far.

It is not the tire brand. I have been running Dunlops on three Harleys for at least twelve different sets of two with no problems. However, it probably is a tire or wheel.

I am not a spoiler, but it is likely due to having a fork mounted wind screen. I experienced the same problem on my old Royal Star Venture. If it is windy the wind tends to take over the bike.
Try taking off the wind screen if it is attached. Good luck.

i was gonna suggest to check your air pressure (so the dealership checked the tire pressure and wheel balancing etc.) yourself to make sure its right. check the air pressure in your shocks. then take it for a ride without the fairing and see if you still get the wobble.

Well, I doubt that is the problem, either. On my rk custom, at speeds up to 100mph, with and without the sheild, I have never even felt so much as a wobble. Not once. I would look at the top fork nuts, and the rear shock pressure. I am a fat guy, and run around 33 psi in the rear shocks. Might be to much for some, but works great for me. Steering head nut, is what I am leaning towards, or bad tires. Either way, take it back in, and have it checked. If you have a manual, you can check the nuts on top of your triple T. Let us know what you find out.
