Pretty much an EG Standard with a radio and CVO motor. I can't justify the extra $$$.
I literally was just about to type this. That's exactly what it is. A blacked out Electra Glide Standard with a stereo and slightly bigger engine. Same stripped down rear end and everything to conserve weight. I'm actually a big fan of this style and weight reduction which is why I'm considering buying an Electra Glide Standard for $19k. Lol. Funny how Harley retooled the EG and labeled it an ST. Alot of people will pay for that fluff and marketing. Good job Harley. 👏
If you want to pay $10k more for black powder coat and bronze trim by all means. Go for it. Or buy the EG Standard and build a 128 and make it your own. EG is the best starting point for a performance bagger IMO.. Or any other custom project for that matter!!
I'm actually into the look of it, I like they brought the lower rider s tank logo and bronze rims to the street glide. Can't say it's worth the price though.
The tail lights are ugly though, does not fit with that bagger style. They should have left those on the EG.
Funny how everyone picked up on this is the EG standard w a bigger engine. I cant wait to rollup next to one and smoke it w my EG standard and all my @fuelmoto mods and several extra $k in my pocket.
I'd almost made up my mind a few weeks back. I was going to trade my '15 Heritage and 1250 BM GSA for a new Gunship Grey/black Road Glide Special.
Then the mothership introduced the ST variant with the 117 motor.
Over here in the UK, the price of the ST is only Ł400 ($540) above that of the Special.
Like the OP, I prefer the look of the Special, with the stretched bags, and the dual seat, and the cleaner look of the rear lights and bag infill....BUT the ST's got the 117 motor, and better (?) rear shocks.

Interesting that there is a minimal price difference between the Special and ST.

Agreed, but wouldn't the EG be bumped up to a 124, not a 128?

I wouldnt base your decision on the 117, its nothing to get excited about over the 114, at least it wasnt for me when my cvo 117 was stock.

I totally agree with you my 117 cvo never really excited me much compared to my 114 special. 3 ci more in stock form really isn't a big deal. just my opinion.

Interesting comments. In looking at the specs of the 117 engine in the LRS ST, it has lower compression than the 114.
