I used the quick detach kit when I installed lowers on my SG. Definitely makes the installation and removal much easier. Basically it consist of longer fasteners with large knurled *****. The bottom attachment is much easier to work with compared to the original clamp. Once you see the components in the kit one can see why the cost is high.

I ordered the quick detach kit at the same time I ordered my fairing lowers. Very easy to install and remove.

It's not significantly easier, nor faster, but it's certainly better looking hardware, and for some guys, that's worth the cost.

I got them and installed them today and I wasn't overly impressed. It's not faster or easier, or even tool-less. I had to use a flat head screw driver to screw in the thumb screws enough so that they wouldn't slide around.

I suppose that's easier because I used a socket and vice grips to remove the original hardware, but now only need a screwdriver.
