I also read all the flak about Howard over the years....but being a Marine, I knew immediately he was simply any typical Staff NCO in the Corps. They knew their sh*t and didnt suffer fools lightly at all, and were all too happy to tell you when you were being a fool. When I got my shocks I remember having a GREAT conversation with him and getting the same treatment as everyone else, him telling me to call, day or night, when I was installing the shocks and he would be happy to assist via phone. It is EXTREMELY sad hearing that he passed, and that no one even knew for such a long time. Makes me wish that he had some Marine Brothers nearby to hang with, which obviously wasnt the case.
Tim, thank you so much for taking the time to post this!
Hopefully each and every one of us can be as fortunate as Howard to have at least one such caring friend as @tj316 Thanks for the updates Tim. RIP Howard
I bought a set of Ohlins Blackline shocks (2-2b) from Howard back in 2017. I had a good experience and was happy with the outcome, I think I spent $630.
Fast forward to the end of 2021, I wanted a set of Ohlins cartridges up front matched to the rears. So I spoke with Howard a few times in December and January, he told me he was having some health issues but that he wanted to get my cartridges done. He never asked for money ahead of time, so being patient I waited...and waited
He called me on March 9th, asked if I still wanted the FKC-101s, and I said yes absolutely, whenever he's ready. Talked to him again on March 11th for 3 1/2 minutes, and he again promised to try to get them done. I never heard back. I did see the the posts with all the issues, and to be honest I was relieved that I never sent him the $1000. I sorta gave up and in the end decided to do nothing...
And this morning I'm reading about his passing. RIP Howard Messner.
UPDATE Howards sister called me today , she will be down at some point , she said anyone that had sent stuff to Howard and had not received it back if they can send information so it can be positively identified she will return it , I know in many cases this will be hard to do but because of scammers it will need to be able to be positively identified , I will update you when she will be down , it could still be awhile at this point
Sorry to hear about Howard.
I am a person that has parts bought & paid for with Howard, Im just waiting delivery. Can anyone advise how I should proceed.

Good call hattitude, but TJ didn’t specify who/how to get that information to Howard’s sister. (He actually quoted post #33..)
TJ, are you taking information? Any updates?

I'd start by gathering your verifiable payment receipts (PayPal, etc) so that when his sister begins going through his books you can make your claim.
