2 into 1 exhaust
New to the forum and hoping to get some advice on 2 into 1 exhausts.
I have a 2 into 1 on my ultra classic and the baffle inside the muffler has become seized. My bike is extremely loud and I'm looking to quiet the noise without sacrificing performance (I bought it this way).
Is it possible to buy a new muffler to attach or would I need to replace the entire system?
Thanks in advance.

If you have a 2-1 exhaust system with a standard sized header pipe, then any slip on muffler that will fit, can be swapped out with your current muffler.
The effect on performance will be dependent on the level of engine mods, how the tune was adjusted for the current mods, and the difference in flow between the current and new muffler.... too many variables to guess on that question, without much more info...
It's a 117 stroker with thundermax tuner, barnett scorpion clutch, oil cooler, and a bunch of other goodies. The bike dyno at 132 whp and 138 tq.
I figured a new slip on would be a feasible option as the power is already pretty overkill.
Wow, that's a good exhaust... many good reviews on it... and it's supposed to tune well.... But it IS loud...
They used to offer a louvered (quiet) baffle, but I seem to remember D&D doesn't recommend changing to that baffle above 103" engines...
I don't remember if the D&D header has a standard sized collector... so that most mufflers can be swapped with theirs...
At your mod level, you need a free flowing exhaust, to handle the added displacement. Should you decrease the flow, you might pick up some bottom end torque, but your HP levels (higher RPM performance) would drop...
I put a FuelMoto Road & Track on my bike, planning on getting their 117" engine mod. I switched to a 124" crate engine instead. There was some concern, my exhaust wouldn't support the extra displacement over 117".... Jaime spent some time tuning it, and got 135HP & 151 TQ.... Since I don't race, just cruise & play occasionally, that was great for me.. I liked the power under the curve..
In your shoes, I'd scope out a couple mufflers (if they'd fit) or exhaust systems I might like, and contact their manufacturers on how they would handle your build... An exhaust can really make or break a build...
Do your research and call a few shops, I suspect there is an exhaust that will work, and still be within your desired sound levels...
Good luck and keep us posted on your decision and results..

I just recently went thru same thing with the quiet baffle in the V&H as it was disintegrating and fiberglass was melted to housing making it very hard to remove. It was actually stopping up as exhaust was whistling trying to get out.
As I am also running more than stock power with the SE 128" Package so figured the competition baffle would work but very wrong as it ran horrible. Ended up repacking the quiet baffle with minimal packing and runs better than ever.
I would talk to FuelMoto amd see if they had their Jackpot muffler that would go on their as they have them tuned for these engines and not too loud either.
Good Luck and Ride Safe✌🏼
