Default Tire pressure warning light on

My 2020 Police Electra Glide tire pressure warning light is on, but the front tire is showing 36 psi and the rear tire is showing 40 psi. Those are the recommended pressures from the service manual. Anyone else having this problem?

Have you checked the pressure with a gauge or just trusting the system? I just use the sensors as a guide but check about every other week with a gauge. Mine our off by a few pounds. Also is the light on when you first start it up? Also had mine show low in cold weather but with a gauge the tires were at the proper pressures.

Sometimes airy them up or down will help straighten out a sensor. Then if you have confirmed with a gauge they are correct check to see if you have any codes. Write them down and clear them out. Then ride and see if it comes back. If so visit your dealer.

Check with a gauge to confirm, they can go bad, battery die or like mine it came “loose” bounced around and compromised the inner tire carcass, under warranty dealer replaced everything including tire.

The manual says that if a sensor goes bad, all you'll see is dashes rather than a tire pressure.. Since you're seeing tire pressures displayed, your sensors should be good.

Like Cosmic Razorback suggests, you might want to inflate the tires 5 or so pounds over and then go back to the recommended pressure.

Also.. Have you checked for trouble codes? I know it's not a check engine light, but there might be something there that will help you narrow things down.

Check your DIAG codes … will probably show BCM code C0077. This just happened to my brother’s Road King during a ride. His was showing 36/40 on TPMS (with hot tires), but when he checked it the next morning (cold tires) he was actually four pounds low. Aired them up and that cleared the code (warning light off).

I have checked with a gage and the sensors are about 2 pounds under the gage front and back. No check engine light and yes the pressure light is still on. I aired the tires up and then bled them back to 36/40 and am still getting the light. As far as codes go, I do not know how to pull the codes, or more accurately have forgotten how.

The TPMS system is not that great it sometimes fails to update ect.
Check with a good gauge if tire is right left 5 pounds out then put it back in. If it keeps doing it one of few things has happen.
1. The BCM lost contact and needs to be reset.
2. battery in the Value went dead should last 5 year .
I have had to rest mine .
