Default Tour-Pak ID

I bought a used Tour-Pak from a buddy that’s been passed around for a while. I had it painted to match my stock 2015 Road Glide. I replaced the luggage rack, hinges, latches, locks, and QD mount. Now I’m looking to replace the lights and speaker pods.

My problem now is that to replace the light bar and wiring harnesses, I need to know the year of the Tour-Pak. I’m not sure if the speaker pods are paired to the year or not.

Any clues as to the year. From looking around the web, I’ve seen the side marker lights on 2006 to present wrap around the back where mine are side only.

Yours looks about the same age as mine. It came of a 2012 bike and I have a 2015 Streetglide. The speaker pods should fit if they're 2013 down to about 2007 or so, you could get the exact time they changed by looking at part numbers on Ronnies parts finder website.

The speakers were easy to wire, I just bought a harness that plugs into the existing connectors under the front fairing. The speakers are 5.25" for those pods so they will be smaller than you have in the front fairing. The harness I got only powers the speakers, those passenger control switches on the outer side of the speaker pod do nothing on my bike. I have no idea just what they're supposed to allow the passenger to change.

The lights were a bit more complicated. The tour pak only has driving and brake lights, no turn signals. The connectors do not match up so a custom harness has to be made. Those side light strips are always on as are the rear lights. obviously the lights get brighter under braking. I had a local shop make up the harness, they have all the factory matching connectors so when I got it it was plug and play. Under the seat there's a connection that goes into the left rear fender and down to the rear lights. It's the connector were you would install the Harley run/brake/turn module. That's were they built the harness to tap into. I ran the wire under the seat and out the back into the predrilled holes in the tour pak.
Lastly, these bikes are very sensitive to electrical load, putting a standard 1157 bulb in the tour pak kept killing all the lights on the rear of my bike. All you had to do was turn it off and back on again but as soon as you touched the brakes it killed the lights again. The fix for that was getting LED bulbs for there. I haven't had an issue since, but make sure you get ones that light up red, if you get clear ones your lights will look pink.

My tour pak might be older than the one on the silver Street Glide. The side marker lights on mine don’t wrap around the rear corners.

When I added an Advanblack box to mine, I tapped into the Kuryaken R/T/B wiring adapter so I didn't touch the original wiring.

I believe it would depend on how many lights are in each side marker.
The wrap around side marker I believe started in 2006.

So yours would be a 2005 or earlier (if it is a an H-D part).

From 2000 to 2005 I believe they used 4 bulbs in each side marker light.

In 1998, 1999 they used two bulbs in each.
I know not about earlier than that.

Well, that should give you an idea.
Hope it helped.
