That's part of the fun, if you like to tinker and/or know how your bike really works you won't regret installing one and playing with it as you ride it more and more. There are so many areas that cam be looked at and adjusted to get the right setting for you. I'm still in the infant stage but there's alot of people on this forum that can help you out. Trust me. I'm still learning and asking advice . But if I can beat a nickle out the moco stealers (who mostly won't be on your money saving side) I'm all for it, TB
So how do these systems look after installation? How it works is most important I understand, but, is there a way that the sensors can be installed in the bungs that still makes the wiring look complimentery to the rest of the bike? Or will I have two cables hanging out in thin air between the pipe and where I can secure them to the frame?
Also, what is the best way to lay out where to put the sensors depending on your bike model, year, and specific pipe choice? That is, can I estimate where I would need to put them on my bike so I can see if I would be able to tolerate the look and where the cables would need to be?
Mike ~ the install is pretty clean. You can install the bungs in such a way that the pigtale is hardly visible. As you know... I prefer the Fatcat which comes w/O2 bungs already in place. However, the DTT includes a set of bungs that can be installed by any muffler shop. All ya gotta do is mark the pipe, before you take it off the bike, and have them installed where you marked the pipe....
Actually, it looks no different than the 07 & 08 HD O2 sensor interface except that it uses one on both the front & rear pipes.
That sounds like a good deal then if the system can be tucked away like that. I thought that maybe the sensors HAD to go in a very specific place on the pipe. Like it or not. Thanks for the feedback Steve and Phil!
Well, you can add yet another successful DTT install with guidance from SpikeCT and PhilM (also thanks to Dalton for assisting with that Pin 1 issue on the 07s). Just got mine on the bike tonight. I consider myself decently mechanically literate and I work in computers for a living, so I thought I would have only some minor issues. I'll admit that the install was a bit more than I anticipated, but these guys were absolutely wonderful in helping me through everything I had questions on. I took extra time doing everything to make sure I got it right (or as close as I could), so the install took me about 5 and a half hours total split over 2 days (excluding breaks). I did run the front O2 down the same path as the factory O2 wiring, but I'm considering moving it under the tank later on after I getthe bikeall tuned out. I may re-route the rear later also as the connector being right by the starter cover seemed quite warmwhen I shut the bike off after riding for a while and checked the O2s. I also got very lucky in that my IAC was perfectly on 30 @ 110 degrees Celcius as I didn't have the proprietary 5 point security bit required to adjust the stop screw nor the proper tools at the place I was working on it to drill and tap it for a set screw. BTW, it's not a tamper-proof Torx (which are 6 point) just like the guys told me and I completely just didn't get it at the time.
To the DTT's credit, I could not believe how easily the bike started when I first fired it up (sigh of relief). The throttle response seems very crisp. Unfortunately it was dark and the air temp had dropped into mid 60s tonight so it felt considerably colder out on the road with the wind. I'm still learning the setup, and with the Fatcat it seems to pull everywhere in the RPM range.The turn signalswork fine, and 6th gear lit up perfectly when I hit the interstate (now that was really cold). I only got to make 2 runs, one about 20 minutes, and one about 15 minutes. I'm getting an occasional low rpm pop and a littlepopping on deceleration occasionally also, but I expect it to tune that out as I ride more. I've applied the BLMs both times, but I really need to plan out a whole day to ride it to get it settled in. So far I really like it and I can't wait to get more miles on the unit to get it more finely tuned.

Like i was saying ride it and it gets better. Phil might actually have a map already tuned or not.... But thats half the fun is seeing how it all works and adjusting yourself...
Has anyone installed the wide band sensors on an 07 with V&H true duels, I heard they will not fit as to the longer sensors of the wide band? Thanks Doc.
