Default RE: Clearview windshield help

Here's the other half of the Clearview page as it offers both ways to determine correct height:

Looking Through the Shield

With the Correct Height Shield:

The rider and the passenger will have the quietest ride and the most protection
You will have a Clearview through the shield
The top edge of the shield will be 2”-3” above your line of sight

Things to Consider:

When you are looking through the shield, it is more difficult to see in the rain or if the shield fogs. You can use Rain-X on our shields which will help keep it clear. Also, in hot weather riding you do not have as much air flow. Our vent option helps if it is available in the shield you are looking at.

Checking the Height:

1) On a level surface, sit on your bike in your normal riding position
2) While looking straight ahead, measure the height that will be 2”-3” up from your line of sight
3) With this height, you will not have the top edge of the shield directly in your view

I have the 2" overstock and use a Sundowner seat. I'm 6'4" with a 32" inseam and I spent alot of time on this as I was really disapointed in the stock shield I even tried the HD's tall shield. You can return the shield if unhappy but it's hard to form an opionon when the film is attached to the shield as it's not smooth. Also itwill take awhile to get but I think it's worth the wait. There design of the well nut set up is another lesson the factory could use. Not sure how many have had the scarring issue on the lower black trim and the rattle I had but my dealership said I was luggung the bike and this is an accepable rattle. Those issues don't exsist anymore well worth the money.

I recently installed a Clearview 8" w/recurve on the SG. The best part about the transaction is Clearview incourages you to install the shield (do no remove protective film) and test drive. You don't like the height? return it for another size and go from there. My 8" Clearview fits me perfectly at 6'2" and a 1" lower seat.

I am 6'3" with a 34 inseam and use the medium height shield on my RG. One thing to keep in mind when comparing theClear Viewto the stock shield, is the CV is angled much more at you than the stock shield. I look over the top of the CV. The stock WS pours the air straight into my face. Also with the greater angle of the CV, it gives much better protection in rain.
The CV shield is the first add on I would do to a RG.
