Default TCU Module removal

I have 2020 Road Glide Limited and am wondering if anyone has removed the TCU (Telemetry Unit) in their bike. HD Connect is no longer and I do not have RDRS. Wondering if there is any reason that I need to keep it. I want to remove to install CB module that goes in the same location.

Removed mine a few weeks ago.
I was getting a load of fault codes and we wondered if the TCU was the initiator.
You need the HD software to tell the BCM the TCU is disabled.

Interesting, you must of bought a very late 20 model? I bought my 20RGL in October of 20 and it didn't come with it, I assume by then they were starting to phase it out or something.

2020 may or may not have it depending on when it was assembled. HD was phasing out what turned out to be a bad idea.
Effects nothing if it is installed.

I've been wanting to remove mine as well. When I installed my CB, I initially installed it on the opposite side where the WHIM would mount (if you had one). I have since unbolted the TCU and have it zip tied (still plugged in) out of the way and mounted my CB where it normally would be. Originally HD said a CB could not be added to a 2020 RGL even though all the wiring and antenna were there under the fairing. Only reason HD said it couldn't be done was a mounting issue because the TCU was mounted where the CB normally is. That was easy enough to figure out. I'd still like to get rid of it completely as it's taking up space. A few threads here about it but as far as I've seen, no definitive answer.

This is what others experienced. Has it been confirmed that the HD software can re-program the BCM to reflect the TCU being removed?

Mine was purchased August 2020 (built Jan 2020). By the time I bought mine, HD had already discontinued it.

Agreed on the bad idea. Although it effects nothing leaving it installed, it's not small and takes up valuable space when adding a CB & amp as I have done.
