I'm using Harley headsets. I've tried different levels of intercom volume (not headset volume which is fine). The VOX breaks normally so I know the microphone's working. Both new headsets do the same thing.

Grandpa, you may have the wrong headset?? they did change at some time from the 5 to 7 prong headset... sounds like you may need to visit the dealer.
