When I corresponded with John from J&M, he informed me that the adapter to hook the stereo to the J&M CB radio would not allow you to turn off the speakers in the fairing like folks can on their Ultras so even though you'll be listening to the stereo headsets, the sound will continue to be broadcast through the speakers on your bike. If you find out different after your install, I'd like to know.

Thanks and ride safe.

Sped ,,,,,,

you are correct ,,, with the JMCB-2003 and the FGA-345 adapter, you cannot turn off just the outside speakers to have the music come thru only the helmet headsets ,,,,,

if we made one that did all that, the darned thing would be almost as expensive as Harley's CB/intercom additions ,,,,,,,

to be frank ,,,, if I owned a 2006-2008 Electra-Glide or RoadGlide with the Harmon Kardon radio, I would go with the Harley brand CB addition over the J&M CB ,,,,,,, it is cleaner and better integrated to the other audio system functions ,,,,,,

for 1989-2005 Harley radios however ,,,,, the J&MM JMCB-2003 with the FGA-345 adapter is a very good choice ,,,,,,,

Some one keeps buying the units on eBay!! Stop bidding against eachother and the cost will stay lower

Chicago Spike, I have an 07 EGC, so I did not have the PTT/Squelch switch on my handbar housing (I don't think I did anyway). It was part of the kit they installed. I too have a couple of guys in my riding group that have CBs and I generally lead the group so decided to break down and get the CB upgrade. It's a cleaner install and works well with the Stock radio, but it's costlier. I like the flexibility the Harley speaker switch allows in listening through the helmet or just the front speakers.

I did decide to go with the J & M Headset though. It's suppose to bet better quality than the Harley headset--even the dealer confirmed that with me.

I got 10% off my parts and so just stuck with the dealer install. I already have a Zumo on my handlebar so did not want any other contraptions on it.

Yep, that is the way I'm going, OEM and J&M headset. I have a Zumo and a digital camera and a 3rd RAM mount on the bars now. 3rd being for an IPass toll transponder or bottle holder, so I wanted no more on the bars either

Has anyone purchased one of these and installed it? What else was required?

You'll still need the wiring harness, tank console, headset, antenna, and mounting screws. All parts found in the big wish book H-D sends out to you. But that CB unit on eBay is the biggest cost item you need. HD wants $299 for it, get it on eBay for @$50

I have bought all the extras I need for the e-bay module CB. Will be starting later this week. In all my e-bay haste I have ended up with two of the modules if anyone can't get one.

How much? Do you know if it's functional? That's what's been keeping me from making the purchase. Thanks in advance.
