I have been wanting a harley since I was able to drive or maybe before that im not sure. I am finally financially able to buy one but have been trying to figure out which model I wanted. well I think i have it narrowed down to a street glide but after reading about the 07'touring models and all thier "problems" I think im going to wait till 09 when the liquid cooled bagger comes out. how di i know there will be a liquid cooled bagger next year? well i know someone who works in the powertrain plant in milwaukee and that is his best guess since they started building them already. but anyway i guess for now i will get a used sportbike just to get back on 2 wheels before i go spend 20gs on a harley. if it wasnt for this forum scareing me away from the 07s i would have one by now and might have a overheating, clunking and whining bike that i am not happy with.
Why wait? The "problems" have been getting worse every yearsince 84, with the addition of belt drive, electronic ignition, FI and comfortable seats. Progress is really just ruining HD more and more each year.
Imagine - an alien from another planet lands beside a hospital and goes inside to see life on earth. "Everyone on that planet is either sick, injured or dying." The same goes for a forum - doesn't matter what brand of car, bike, gun, or medication - you'll find out every problem that has ever happened or has been imagined! Of the 07's we've sold - very few have ever complained - 90% or more are very happy and keep smiling. Your '07 might actually increase in value when the liquid cooled models come out - think about that!
And you think the '09s may come water cooler - but they have until '10 to do so - And there is nothing wrong with the '07 - '08 and can't be fixed.... EVERY YEAR has had there little ups & downs... You wait - You Loose
Want a water cooled HD now go get a V-Rod and hang a fairing & bads on it...
I think the only year that Harley never had an issue with on there motorcycles was 1903 (there was nothing to base the problem off, it was what YOU GOT) With any model year new design or old you'll find an issue with something. Good luck working the bugs out of the water cooled bike. That should be a fun one!!!
You'd put off buying a Harley because of whatyou readin an internet forum?
H-D has madeabout 360,000 2007 model bikes, and we have about a dozen people in the forums responsible for the majority of the"My bike'sa POS" posts.
This is enough to stop you from buying?
As mentioned- you'll probably neverbe happy with that attitude...
As for H20 Glides next year, go look at all the "Water cooled baggers arecoming in '08!" posts that were started last year by people who had the inside track, knew someone who knew someone,or knew people at H-D.
