Default NO SPARK 1999 ROAD KING

Hello, Im new to the site and have encountered my first problem already.
As a harley virgin, i have just purchased a 1999 / 88CI Road King Classic, bike started fine. I have just replaced the battery and now bike will not start.
It is dead at the ignition button.
Please can anyone shed some light.
many thanks

More details needed. Did you check the kill switch? Is there any sign of power such as lights? Is the strter solenoid switch clicking? Is this a new battery and how was it charged?
If the battery came off a shelf pre-charged it is a good idea to load test it in case there is a "history" you don't want to adopt.
After confirming the battery is up to the task check connections starting at the battery cables and check the ground. This is a good time to wipe on some anti-corrosion (petro-jelly) on the contacts. You can also check the starter, maybe arc the leads to rule that out. If the handle bars have been changed it could be a nice coincidence of loose connectors in your switch. (That put me on the side of the road for a couple of hours one day.) And ignition switch.

I suspect and hope this is something embarassingly simple.

Alright FLFOOL, cheers for replying. when i turn the ignition on, all lights are working. disconected the ignition switch, run a temp switch to the starter motor. tried direct starting to starter and still no spark.
is there a possability, that i have activated the security sytem as the bike seems to be imobilised?
Can this happen, if the battery is removed and a new one inserted?
Battery voltage is good, tested battery when trying to start with temp switch direct onto starter motor.
will check for loose connections in the mean time.
thanks again
