i set up a 'dealer' account for myself. no problems. then when i was confused about what i wanted to purchase, i reached out to them via email or chat (forget which) and they sent me an invoice to pay.
Ive also tried to purchase per bike license and also had been told that dealers only. What does it take to register dealer account, do you have to have a business ? Thanks for any pointers 😀
I really think it should be spelled out you need wifi. I don't think it is intuitive that you would need it. For some it is a deal breaker. Some places cell signal is questionable, and then if you go in a metal building you are getting nothing.
I think it should just be listed in the ad. The ITM one is cheap, and buyer beware. I'll get my money out of it. Maybe not sleazy leaving out wifi and mating. Maybe city people just figure everyone has cell signals and attached garages
I am not sure if you can bring it into the house to boot up, and then go back out to the garage.
I agree with you for what it's worth. I am glad you mentioned that because I prefer the stand alone capability. I have three options with the scanner I have for a bmw motorcycle, and the wifi cloud option is the one I don't ever use.
Emailed dealer asking if I could take the tablet to some place with wifi to login and then bring it to the bike. He said no. Told me he was losing his patience with me, go buy a $400 and use my laptop.
Not all garages have wifi. If it is a metal building you will not get cell signal. The guy should have stated this in the description. Made at myself for cheaping out.
I don't understand why the program is not on the tablet itself. You buy an app, its on your phone. You buy a software its on your computer.
Might just send it back and get something else.

What have I said that is unreasonable?
I said the ad should state you need wifi.
I asked if I could drive the tablet somewhere, login, and then drive back to the bike.

Your Wi-Fi problem might be solved with a better router. In Michigan my garage is 100' from the house, the 5G is medium strengh, but the 2G is real strong. I can go a 1/4 mile behind my place in the woods, and still have coverage.
I live in a remote area, no cable, very spoty cell coverage. I have Hughsnet, I don't know what router they use. My brother has Starlink, and his router reaches around 100 yards in the woods.
Call your internet provider, they probably have a range extender of some kind.

I just think it is lousy that you need to load the program everytime you use it. I think it shitty of him not to change the ad to include it. He got pissed at me when I said it should be in the description.
Also makes me wonder the future of the poduct, this is just some guy in his gararge. If his website goes under you lose the product. I thinking about sending it back and getting the twin tec. More money. Problem with twin tec, is I really doubt I would use any of the other features.
