Tire & Wheel policy
Dealers are always pushing the tire and wheel along with ESP, from my understanding it will only replace a tire if it's a good tire anyway; they won't replace an old tire just because you go ram a nail in it. I never buy insurance at discount tire when I put tires on my car, for a tire it's a gamble I'm willing to take. Wheels on the other hand, are pretty expensive, but if you damage your wheel hitting a pothole or something in the road, won't your regular insurance pay for that? I understand you have a deductible, but still that's probably only 500 bucks and it's cheaper than one of these policies. I did buy the esp, I'm arguing with myself over the tire and wheel package and just can't seem to talk myself into it. What do you guys think? Is it worth it?
I had 3 flats on my 2020 Goldwing in 18 months and 35K miles, so I got the tire/wheel coverage on my 2022 Electra Glide. I think the Eagle something insurance (someone here will remember the name) also offers it, so you might consider that too, though I don't remember the specifics on it.
Motorcycle agent .com Had ESP's and tire/wheel BUT I went with HD a few months after I bought my bike.
IF memory serves, HD has a longer coverage and the set amount of times/costs etc is higher than Motorcycleagent.com (I think).
I went into my HD, and they will put you on a one year payment plan of $60.00 a month for the 5yr plan coverage so you don't have to come up with it in one shot if that's the way ones was to go.

That's the one. Looked in my email (I'll paste the contact info below). I talked to this guy on the phone too and he seemed legit. He talked me out of getting the extended warranty till my factory warranty was going to expire. He seems well regarded here.

Don't look at warranties as cost except if on tight budget. Ask yourself the necessary questions.
1) Do I ride enough to be at high risk of damage and loss of the wheel and tire
2) What does the warranty cover and not cover
3) Is where I ride full of hazards. For example high traffic for construction. High business traffic. City riding full of pot holes. Add any you can think of.
Depending on the answer to those questions should dictate your decision. Not someone elses opinions on warranties.
I will add. My background is an ex mechanic after 23 years in the industry. Some people never drove enough to need the warranties and understandable seen them as a waste of money. Others drove excessively due to work or travel and relied on it to save them from countless times. I had one customer at one shop come in with a blown out tire. At the time the company had repair or replace warranty you could purchase on the tires. She had purchased it on her first set. Got the tire for free. Sales asked her if she wanted to put the same warranty on the new tire for which her answer was " No I don't think I need it. They aren't a good use of money" - after , again, getting a new tire for no money after a blow out. Another was at a used car dealer. They always offered extended warranties. Always mixed receptions on it through the purchaser. However as the mechanic I saw all of it. Customers that never needed it. Customers that did but didn't have it and after a year needed a new motor but couldn't afford it and wished they had gotten the warranty. Then others where the history of the vehicle reared its ugly head and let cylinder 3 escape and the customer did purchase the extended warranty and got a new motor for the $250 deductible.
The decision should be base on your evaluation of usage or potential need. Cost is secondary.
Disclaimer: I just picked up my first 13 Ultra Classic. I did add the Tire and wheel and extended on it. Thankfully to because a week after I got it home the volume switch had a short that also fried the automatic volume control circuit in the radio head. So right off the bat I am alread $1500 ahead of the game.

Unfortunately, this is why the costs of plans keep going up; however, road hazards are what these plans cover. As long as you have more than 2/32nds of tread on the tire, you get a brand new tire replaced with no proration. The plans we sell have no deductible and they reimburse you as the rider. This alleviates the wait for the admin's billing department to pay the repair facility. You are usually in an out in an hour.
I wouldn't recommend making an insurance claim for a tire or a stock wheel. Normal deductible is $250-$1k. Plus claims can affect the premium, discounts, ect.

I have had two rims and tires replaced, each time only costing 50 bucks. (Bent rim from potholes and dealer went to bat for me and had tires replaced also.)
And two times the tire was replaced, one for a nail and one for a screw. 50 bucks each.
