I use a full face for commuting (interstate riding) or when it's cold. I have a Shoei RF SR or something like that. No complaints. It is a bit hot, could use a little more air flow but other than that it's pretty solid. Can wear it long periods and not have hot spots, no discomfort or anything. But that's bc it's shaped for my head.

I really wanna move over to Simpson bc well frankly they look bad ***. And are manufactured in Texas, at least I think they are as they have a big factory up the road from me. But I keep hearing or reading reviews about how loud they are. I wear ear plugs even with full face (trying to save the hearing I still have) so maybe that wouldn't be a concern for me.

I'll probably wind up with trying to find either a leftover RF1200 or the newer version RF1400

I have a Bell full-face and a new HD modular I just bought. That HD lid is light. I like it. The Bell is a great choice, too.

I have both (3/4 & full) and switch off depending on my ride. If it's short I reach for my 3/4, if I'm logging some miles and want to lower the wind noise the Full. After loosing control of my bike because I rode it like a Sport-bike years ago (I know, I was a dumb-***) and was able to walk away with no head trauma I'm a strong proponent of covering your dome.

@strych9 How is the fit of the HD modular? Mrs. Mutt is interested, but she has a round oval head shape, so getting a fit is always a challenge. She had a Nolan N43, and currently a Schuberth C3 that is aging out. An intermediate oval can work if it's on the rounder side and the padding is right.

I have an Arai Defiant-X, love it.

The fit for me is perfect, but I have a round head, like Charlie Brown. LOL.

I wear a medium helmet size and every brand I buy seems to be spot on.

I have my Cardo PackTalk Black mounted for comm & music. Even though I upgraded my audio with an amp & better speakers, I find I tend to use my Cardo helmet speakers to stream my music to most of the time...even if I'm riding solo with no need for comms. Not fighting wind noise and with the JBL speakers right there over my ears, the sound is fabulous.

If Sena is your preferred comms, then the slick thing about the Neotec II is it's made for the Sena SRL comm system integrated right in. I happen to prefer the Cardo and had them before the helmet so went this route.

For me...if I'm gonna wear a helmet, it may as well be a good one. Yes, they're expensive...but a lot less than brain surgery.

Really good and valid point. I will say, from riding my sport bike on the track, crashing in proper body armor and a full face does not hurt. and to date i have walked away with bumps, bruises, and nothing more than an ego injury. a track suit is not really practical on my RGU, but wearing proper attire for the ride is aways considered.

Default Full Face Helmet

Arai.. Here is some pictures as to why. This was my brother's brand new Arai, which saved his life a month ago. Notice where the helmet took the impacts.. The neuro Surgeon in ICE said the helmet saved his life.He walked out of ICU the next morning.. Pictures of the Hemet were sent to Arai America's and by them to Arai headquarters in Japan.. One grand for the helmet was well worth it.

Scott, this is the HD Capstone helmet I mentioned in my previous post. The HJC branded one - the i90 - is about $80 cheaper and exactly the same (except for color, of course). Good airflow, good fit for round oval heads.
What I like is that I can go into HD and try on the helmet and then go buy the HJC equivalent elsewhere... Sometimes HD carries both HJC and HD brands.

It fits good, but it's got this small flat spot area on the back of it that was grabbing air and pushing my head forward. The air, due to the batwing, hits the Nolan just in the wrong spot. The front vent on the HJC grabs a good amount of air for ventilation and quiet, whereas the Nolan's front vent was noisy.
