Couple of things to comment on.

I only wear Snell rated helmets. DOT is a self-certifying rating by manufacturer.
My profile pic is my helmet, Shoei RF-SR. Matches the bike.
My wife, had same helmet, caused bad hotspot on her forehead. Now she's in a Arai Signet-X, as it's one of the few for "long oval" heads.

That leads me to the OP's stated location in his post. If you are in SE PA I strongly recommend taking a trip to Revzilla. They will run you through a lot of helmets and help with proper fitting. It's worth the time and to avoid sending helmets back and forth on RMA's.

Me telling you about which helmet fits me well is pointless. You have to find the perfect fit for you. Reading about it will narrow the field of selection but you have to try it on to be sure.

4) Skull bucket helmets scream stupid.

5) Full face helmets make you at least look like you have brains.

6) A great full face helmet is cooler in the heat of summer than no helmet.

7) An expensive full face helmet that fits you properly will be the best motorcycle money that you will ever spend.

8) I really don't care what you think because what you think won't change the facts. The harder your head is, the longer it will take you to accept these facts as truth....but they are truth.
Really annoying post. You offered an opinion.. that is not a fact. Lots of folks offered an opinion. Nobody is more important, sorry to share the obvious and ruin your day.

Money does not mean one helmet is better than another.. with a higher budget you likely have more options and then it’s easier to find a better helmet.

Been wearing HJC helmets for more than 12 years and for the price I think it's a good helmet. The other thing is it fits my head well, currently I have the I90 Modular Helmet with the built for HJC Sena headset. Probably no bad choices today and will come down to what fits your head and how much money you want to spend. I've been wearing fullface/modular helmets for more than 40 years, you can say I'm an advocate.

1998 a good friend died from wearing one of those beanie helmets. He went down, slowing down for red light at intersection, 3-5mph. That beanie helmet killed him.
About a year after that another friend and his OL involved in a low speed crash. Beautiful chick. Her face looked like ground beef on one side.
I wear full face Arai helmet.

I own 2 ARAI Signet Q's which are now Signet X - "On the long, narrow end of the head shape spectrum, the Signet series has always been the "go-to" helmet of choice. The new Signet-X exemplifies that shape in a feature-rich package."

Quiet. Good air flow. Light.

I have installed a J&M headset (
J&M Elite 801 series helmet headset) in my touring helmet. And about to install a bluetooth on my Softail helmet (J&M BT-05)

Arai has 3 shapes to try, they do make a difference, go here and scroll down to see - https://www.araiamericas.com/technology As soon as you put on the correct shape, you'll be amazed.

My first helmet was a large, white HJC, round shape and I liiked like Jack In The Box! I started with signet Q and wore a medium and it was bad arss. Im on my 4th ARAI.

Good luck in your search and let us know what you purchase

Wife and I have HJC's. Reasonable price, good comfort and weight doesnt seem to be an issue.
We have Cardo Packtalk Bold intercoms in them and noise isnt too bad.
But they are over 5 years old so I may upgrade soon. Problem is $$$$$$$.

Bell Bullitt.

I've had it around 10 yrs, or ever since they first came out. Man it fits my noggin good. Molded to my head. Some bitch about the wind noise with the Bullitt because of the larger shield/opening, but I have no issues jamming to my tunes at 90 mph, besides, it's a Goddamned motorcycle. Of course you're gonna have wind noise.

Wind noise largely follows fit.

You may wish to consider a modular helmet. Though beware of chinbar retention.
What do you mean about "beware of chinbar retention" ?
