I recently installed a new stator on my 97 Road King . It fired up & ran fine. On a ride the motor died & would crank but not start. After it sat for a couple hours it fired right up but died after about a mile. Hasn't started since. The code i get is 14 ETS (engine temp sensor). Don't see how a
bad ETS would cause no spark. The motor is a stock Magnetti Morelli injected EVO. Any insight would be appreciated .
I don't know anything about MM. But did you check the stator is outputing? Just rev it up and see battery go to 14.4 dc? Battery was good? I one time forget to plug stator back in, Surprising how long you can go on a battery. Luckily I remembered in time.
Have you verified "no spark" or just assumed because it won't fire? A little gasoline or starting fluid into the intake and then cranking would confirm your diagnosis OR lead in a different direction. If it fires a few times you have spark but no fuel. If it doesn't fire even with the manually added fuel, you are correct about no spark.
You said you started the bike over the winter. Only started it or also ride it to heat it up?
If the spark is yellow there could be electrical problem, but it is also wise to empty carb bowl before winter so there comes fresh gas on first start after the winter... You could try it now also...

Fuel injection
Good question. Did you check spark. Stick old plug on wire is easiest.
How hard/expensive is it to change temp sensor? It throwing that code.
