It feels good to have my 22 SGS paid off being that I bought in Jan of 23 as a leftover model. I originally went looking for an FLHT standard. I had my 2014 RK since new and time for a batwing bike and get some music. I had batwings before and liked the music but also loud mufflers which drowned out the hogtunes. Neither of the locals had any FLHT standards for me to create my own dream bike so as I was browsing the salesman I have known for a while suggusted a SG standard. They had my favorite color,, black,, and we did some numbers and I said that sounds good. The sales manager said he has a SGS with the bigger engine, screen, and super ABS. It is a 5k upgrade and since it was the last year model he would give me 3K off. Deal. Payments wer 420 for 6 years at 12.99. The salesman said soon as you can, get with your credit union and get a better rate. I did and got a 6.99. I was hoping this would be my last bike so I chose the options carefully in consideration of leaving the motor stock. I put my 2014 RK CVO seat on from the RK, Chopped fender, swapped the chopped crash bar for the full size from my RK. Added Progressive 444 low light duty. Perfect for me. Added my Chopped Tourpak. In the mean time, I sold a softail for 3200 that I took on a trade for my old pickup. Then I bought a 96 lowrider from a friend for $1500. Her husband tried to jump it and let some smoke out under the seat. Took me $600 to fix everything and sold it for $3800. plus some other hustle I had almost 9k to have on hand if a musclecar came up with a good deal. Man, these MF want 20K for a Lemans 350, $18k for 4 door Nova, 40K for a GTO in somewhat devent shape. F that, so I took that money and with my SS check paid almost the whole note. Last month I took my SS check and money from a gun I sold and paid it off. Total of just under 3 years. Man that felt good. Seeings that it only has 10K on it and never been beat/raced, I am hoping to keep for a long time. Oh and sold 2 other high end "extra" pistols and got me a nice sound system with saddlebag speakers. I can bluetooth Sirius XZ classic vinyl and jam.
Congrats! Paid off... Yeah, I know the feeling. Paid off my 2017 many years ago in 2019 and I'm coming up on 100K trouble free miles on it now. Who knew? First gen M8...
So many mods over the years - I've owned it for 9 years and never have wanted to sell it. I'm trying for 200K before I trade it in. JK, never selling it.
Many like to keep it stock and trade every few years, and at one time I was in the mod-it AND trade every few years group, but now I'm just going to wear out what I have. I just ride it. Feels good to be honest.
Good job! I usually pay off things early. I finance based on worse case scenarios. I usually make double the principle payments. My 2019, bought in 2021, was paid for in about 1/2 the time frame. My 2019 ElectraGlide FLHTP now has 41k miles on it. So I am thinking maybe one more before I am done touring.
Now all of our vehicles are paid for. But the wife's van is over 60K miles and I am looking to replace it, and get it paid off before I retire in a couple of years.
As some already know, I had to buy my 22 SGS on the road in VA this last summer when my 14 SGS **** the bed with 177,000 miles on it. I just literally paid it off 10 minutes ago, lol! And you guys are correct...... great feeling!!
Trucks paid off, bike paid off, not cc bills, only thing is 77K mortgage to pay down. Meanwhile, wife found 4 sq ft of space and bout 200 temu items to fill it. sheesh
