Hey guys, I have an 04 FatBoy that I am ready to trade in. The bike is way to small for me. Im about 6'4" 250 lbs. My question is if a SG would be to small. I rode one today for about 5 miles, definately not enough riding to really get a feel for it. I did realize one thing right away, it is alot more comfortable than my slammed fatty with a paper thin Corbin seat. I also road the RoadGlide and I really wasnt a fan of the shark nose, plus the SG seemed to be a little smoother when cruising around 75 (except that the wind is channeled right at my eyes).
I`m 6` 2' @ 200 LBS. I find it`s a good fit because the seat allows me to sit further back then on my FLHTCU. It`s a longer reach to the bars and floor boards.
Works good for me...[8D] Hope this helps...Buy it, you`ll love it...
Im almost exactly your size and weight man and I love the SG, though Im getting a diff seat, but that is more to lower me cause im used to riding slammed bikes..................get it, you will be happy.
Dealers here will let you rent a bike and apply the rental fee to the purchase price. I'd rent one for a weekend just to make sure you like the fit. That said, you are an inch taller than me and I thought the SGfit was fine. I didn't like the windshield height, so I would have changed that out first thing if I would have bought a SG.
My Opinion..FWIW...I'm 6'5" 275lbs...I prefer the Ultra over the Streetglide. Sat and rode both...Why..Because the Street Glide is lowered and I felt too big for it. I bought an Ultra and I'm pretty much making it look like a SG..except that I wanted the suspension that wasn't lowered and has a bit better ride..Solution..You could add different suspension to SG, but to 'me' the SG felt too small lowered the way it is.
Im 6'6" 275.I like the SG but at 6 6 im not looking for a lower bike.I did a EG Standard and made it mine.Did a mustang ultra seat and pushed me up about another inch.Fits just right now.
If I were to do it again and I might.Id look at the EG Classic.Do the removable tour pack and ride
Well I do very much like the SG look, more shock travel and more seat height is a good thing..

RE: 08 Street Glide for a big guy?
WOW! Some of y'all might wanna mix in a salad @ da buffet
Go with the SG and lose the horriblelookin bulky engine guard and add a set of the Kury Cruise Arm IV (the extended version). At 6'2" it makes all the difference wif me. That and a Corbin seat set-up will makeur sled a much mo' comfortable cruise while "sittin down & back."
