Default Bassani Down Under True Dual Exhaust , your opinion ?

Well . after 3 years , I'm tired of my 2-1 Pro pipe . Before that , I had the V&H True Dual system , not bad , loved the sound . With the pro pipe , TW222 cams and dyno , I'm getting about 95hp , same with torque .

I see that Bassani has a Down Under True Dual system including slip-ons ( your choice ) . I would go with the straight cans , not megaphones .

I know with true dual set-ups , you will lose some power , but it is enough to even notice ?

I know sound and volume are of course very subjective , but I'm looking for something easier on the ears , nice deep rumble and won't pizz of the neighbors , Lol .

What's your opinion ?

Any other recommendations ?

I thight with true duals you gain power but lose torque.

Bassani makes a damn nice header. They step down and keep the pressure where it likes to be. For slip ons, my favorite so far has been Tab Performance, and you can go with tithe 1 3/4 sprial baffles to mellow it out.

There are so many options. Pick something that looks good and run it, or research dyno numbers. I think for what you're looking for, I'd pick the pretty over powerful.

Thanks for your response NoRegerts , I'll research the Tabs you mentioned , I'm not opposed to mixing a header with slip-ons . The one thing I've been looking at as far as slip-ons , they must have options for quiet baffles , 1 3/4" seems to be the popular size for toning it down , but if the slip-on sounds good the way it is , I won't have to buy the quiet baffle .

Yes , I agree , Bassani does have a good rep . The guy who dyno's my bike mentioned them , so I thought I'd look into them and the Down Under Dual's looked good . I know I'm going to have to take my bike back in for another dyno , that's ok , we discussed it when I was there .

Something to add , I'm sure whatever I decide to go with , the cams will help me keep the power I need when I'm riding two up with gear , not looking for crazy neck snapping torque , Lol , the change is more for sound and looks ( dual slip-ons ) .

Something about volume , I really don't mind loud pipes , but it has to be a " Deep " loud , if you know what I mean .

I have Rinehart True Duals and I like them.
I have not noticed a loss of power or low end torque.
My bike is not meant to race, I am past that also.
Bassani looks and sounds like a decent system.

So far , I've been all over the internet trying to make a solid decision , although it does seem , now's not the right time to buy , so many suppliers seem to be out of stock , crazy , must be Sturgis , don't know .

I did end up sending an email to Bassani and asked exactly what slip-on came with the Down Under header , I'm hoping it's the DNT Straight Can . This particular slip-on , from what I understand , comes with a removable quiet baffle , a 2 part system , best of both worlds . The header itself ( out of stock ) sells separately , so I can easily purchase whatever slip-on I like .

I'm still looking at other options as well .

Highway Handler , thank-you , the Rinehart is in the list , but won't do the crossover , trying to keep the pipes as far away from the pass floorboards as I can . Been watching and reading reviews on those as well . Picking the right slip-ons for those might be a challenge , so many to choose from .

Have you looked at this? It seems to check all the boxes.
Including a crossover.

True duals with a stepped header design do not have the loss of low end torque that true duals without a stepped header can have.

The only concern I have about buying new exhaust , is the inlet for the slip-ons , like the pro pipe ( 2 1/2 " ?? ) , khrome werkz has a 2" inlet , so that would make it difficult to try other slip-ons for different sound / volume . Am I right by saying that the manufacturers have there own design , so the only way to change sound / volume would be to buy they're baffles etc .

Of course , Bassani has more than one slip-on , so there are options .

Would it be smart to stick with something with the standard 1 3/4" ?

I would buy a complete system from one manufacturer. If you only want slip ons, I would buy screamin sea gulls.
