I am trying to price a RGS and I would like to have a tour pack but I cannot tell from the pictures if it comes with a padded back rest or not. Seems silly to ask, but they seem to nickel and dime everything when it comes to parts.

"nickle and dime"..more like $50 and $100 a whack !!
Get it from Advanblack and save yourself some $$$$.
Colour match is perfect, quality as good as HD and style the same... plus comes with backrest, smaller one on chopped trunk, full-size on the bigger version.
Its a no brainer....
Advanblack tour paks come complete with locks, hinges (black or chrome), backrests and reinforced mounting plate, all you need to add a docking kit.. you can change the lock to match your existing HD one, order at any Harley dealership
The backrest pads and the lock kit do not come with any tourpaks. You can get the lock kit keyed to your bike and you can choose any backrest pad. Of course the detachable rack and docking hardwaret are also what you need.
Think of it this way... I built my 2022 RGS and added 10k to the bottom line before I even picked it up.. Its easy to get away from you... The padded back rest does not come with it...

Nickle and dime would be nice. HD don't want pocket change they want it all.
First I never understand why people but a RG or SG. Then try to make it a RGL or Ultra. if you want that then buy the real deal.
save a lot of cash in the end. And the lower version will never be a RGL limited.
If all you really want is the tour pack go aftermarket.

I have a advanblack chopped tour pack on my 2019 RGS, but usually unless I am travelling or picking something up then its off the bike and it stays in the garage

Maybe, just maybe the price diff mitigates the cost of the TP. Maybe he likes the CVO-style bags. Maybe he likes the rear fender facia and look better. Maybe he likes the color choices of the RGS better. Maybe he likes the RGS stance better.

Could be the other way around too.
exactly. it's literally a fairly simple thought to process.
