Default Kyle Racing East

I drove from the west coast in Florida today over to the east coast and had Mike Wheeler at Kyle Racing East rebuild my Ohlins shocks and forks . What an impressive shop and guy . Mike certainly is an expert on suspension and also super nice . Can’t wait to put the miles on my suspension with the adjustments he made and the rebuild . Mike is on the left in the picture of three of us , the other is my buddy Bob and myself.

Awesome, glad you got a new source for your suspension work. I may check him out.

Do have new paint on the bike? Looks great.

So..... I've been dealing with Mike at Kyle Racing for a little over 2 weeks now in an effort to get both, my Ohlin's HD 772's (Howard build with 78k miles), and my Ohlin's 30mm Cartridges (Big Bear Chopper build with 63k miles) both rebuilt because both were in need again. I had them all SUPPOSEDLY rebuilt in the beginning of last year by BBC and was less than thrilled with that to say the least.

After two 52 day cross country trips on those first rebuilds, I got home in July and said, "No more!". I've been following a few of the Ohlin's threads going on here in the forum, and grabbed Mikes name and called him. As @tj316 said, the guy is legit! Knows what he's talking about, friendly, and down to earth type cool.

My HD 772's needed a set of new rods because they were very worn, (Mike sent pics of EVERYTHING so there were no questions. I liked that!!), and they would have to be ordered from Sweden and were 5-7 weeks out! I leave at the end of the month for a 3 week ride to the Four Corner Rally and then all over the Northwest, so 5-7 weeks was not an option, so I ponied up for a new set of 772's. My fork tubes on the front shocks were getting pretty worn as well, (OE at 126k miles, and of course Mike sent pics), so I had him order a set of the tubes to get them rebuilt. Mike took his time and made double sure that he got mine and my wife's weight, loaded saddlebag weight, and tour pack weight correct so he could set up everything before he shipped them out. Good follow through!!

Bottom line, everything is in a box and on it's way back here to Commiefornia and should be here on Wed., hopefully installed on Thur., and a test ride soon after. I will report back on how that goes.

I miss working with Howard on my suspension needs/questions, but this guy Mike is a GREAT substitute! He said that he was talking with some other guy from some forum, and I thought it might have been you TJ, and now I'm sure of it, lol! You report back on your ride as well sir!

I spent a good amount of time with Mike picking his brain , the guy knows his ****. He use to road race and he and a few other guys tested for Ohlins and their competitors products so he has a first hand knowledge . Personally the difference I see between him and Howard besides personalities is Mike knows suspension better from being a racer and later the guy who rebuilt and serviced it and really knows how to fine tune it , Howard knew suspension no doubt but he was a visionary always looking to do something better that hadn’t been done yet and that is why we have 49mm forks on older bikes , we have remote reservoir shocks for baggers before they were standard in Ohlins line up and so on.

Default Straight up Dude, Great Work, Highly Professional

Mike was great to deal with. I called him last minute because I was riding to Daytona from Louisiana for Bike Week. He said he would get me in no matter what. I have a 24 CVO Street Glide I wanted front Ohlin shock tube cartridges. He also got my buddy in for his 21 Road Glide rear Ohlins.

Not only was extremely professional and efficient, he had the best price around. He didn’t just mark up his prices like everyone else because of bike week. He was very knowledgeable, funny and informational. Good dude, straight up.
