Decatting header
Looked very easy. Maybe easier than cutting it open and welding it back.
Edit: Found it.

Will overall final effect on performance of the bike be significantly different between using decatted OEM header vs expensive FullSac?
I run KhromeWerks mufflers
I would expect final effect on performance gains (when installing cams) would be negligible if any. Is my logic tinted?

Yes it will void your warranty. Do not drill out the Cat, that's a waste of time. Cut it out properly or don't mess with it.
You said you have a 2022 (Road King Special)?
You currently use KhromeWerks mufflers.
You want to de-cat the headpipe.
Later on sometime you plan on a Cam swap.
Okay, go for it. With a De-cat headpipe your bike will run cooler and sound a bit better. You'll enjoy the ride while your saving money for the Cam swap. Wait a little longer, save a little more, and buy a new Cam and Headpipe. Or, swap the Cam and do the headpipe later. Don't forget, at this point you'll need a Tuner Module, because of the Cam swap.
It's no big deal either way for a simple Stage 2 setup.

I replaced my stock head pipe for a Cobra Pro Chamber and Neighbor Haters. They were first, but I was still in original warranty. Had a few warranty items, front brake rotors, and i would need to think of the other minor isssues and or recalls.
Also had the extended service plan where the dealership did all my scheduled maintenance up to 3 years and 30k of which I hit 30k before 3 and never a question.
Even though I did the work meself along with snatching a $200 SEPro tuner new that I tuned the bike with, the service department never even mentioned my changes. Never said my warranty is or could or would be void.
I am of the mindset that the warranty that comes is good enough or I aint buying it. House, car, bike, household appliances, anything with a warranty, nothing extended.
The ESP was a paid up front service plan I chose for the new to me off the floor bike. Extra treat. Take in, get call, pick up. I now do my services like previously on all my other bikes Ive had.
But never heard a peep.
