They couldn't just leave the small guys alone????
They're still.promoting the brand and brining in money.

In the mid-1990s, H-D corporate was pushing to move more "dealers" to the interstate corridors and out off the local places they built there business upon.

I might seem overly concerned but Im really not at all.
I've just never had a bike with all this "new"stuff on it so I'm asking as many questions about everything as I can just to educate myself.
In that case, it's still not possible to answer that question exactly, but I have seen M8 engines for $3-4k with less than 3k miles on them for sale several times recently. So maybe about that much for a TC too?

You mean HD actively pursued smaller dealerships to close them down??
When did this happen?
Been going on awhile. In 2020 CEO steped up the plan to shut down 200 dealers in US.
They targeted small family owned dealers. It most often stared when a group that owned more than one dealership wanted sales the smaller dealership had.
In our case we had a dealer ship that was here 62 years Owner grew up on the dealership shop floor as did his children.
The Sons his wife all worked in the dealership not just hung around. They all rode One son Danny was the 2020 Hooligan national grand champion. And he built that bike in the dealership shop.
They made their living on service and they knew it. People in the shop worked there 20 years and more .Never heard can't from them. The sign at their dealership said we will work on any Harley 1939 and up. Also made it known if it was older they would try to help.
The knew the bikes inside and out. Many of us purchased new bikes right at the parts counter. And the hardest part was picking the color. I purchased a new one from the ER over the phone.
Yes HD targeted and force small honest dealer to shut down. More coming.
