So I recently picked up a chopped TP and since my bike is pretty much blacked out, of course I had to replace the chrome hinges and latch.
Bought the part, $213.95 plus tax at my local dealership. Always supporting my local HD dealership.
I start by replacing the two hinges. I then go to take out the latch and catch part out and I notice this kit DOES NOT come with the catch on the TP lid. REALLY, WTF????
That part is not seen while the TP is latched, but when I open it, there's a long ugly chrome piece.
There are other kits out there that are half the price and come with the catch. Unbelievable!!!!
I partly blame myself, I should have looked everything over before installing, but c'mon HD, REALLY???
I just took a bunch of parts to the powder coater, now I have ONE more that I need to get done. F'n crazy!
I bought a ton of black parts on Ebay for that reason when I blacked out my '21 TriGlide and none of them failed to fit properly. Saved myself a bundle

I may have to go that route with the way HD is going.
