You claim: "But at the end of the day HD knows they can warranty it. They just choice not to in the hopes the customer that dropped $30,000 on a motorcycle will drop another $2000 on a new head unit."
Maybe that is in fact true..... OR.... maybe the people at the MoCo involved with this decision really believe the damage was caused by blunt trauma and the OP is one of those people who feels the MoCo should just pay anyways...
Doesn't really matter as we will never know for certain.....
My opinion is that whatever the case, criminal behavior is never a proper response.
The only reason I responded to your comments is because all too often I see comments on the internet that tend to suggest illegal and inappropriate behavior is excusable, as a response to some suspected slight... Those comments most often go unchallenged. That gives them an appearance of overall acceptance ....
I respond, because I truely believe that illegal behavior is not a proper option. I choose to offer an opposing opinion when I see comments like you made, so some who may be swayed by words on the internet, know their are other people who don't agree...
My response was to disagree with what you said. I do not have any issue with you, nor do I mean my opposing opinion as an attack on you personally..
I've said my piece, others who disagree are free to offer their opinions...
Peace out.....
Oh I have no issue with you either. I am not condoning scamming the system. Just saying it is an option. Would I do it? No, mainly because I am able to pay for the new head unit without issue. But some people are not and the swap is an option. But then there is karma. Let's just hope the right thing is done.

NO THE SWAP IS NOT AN OPTION!
It is fraud. What don’t you understand?
Incase you were wondering, shoplifting is wrong too.
You need to reset your moral compass.
No smiley face for you.

What is fraud is the $2700 for the headhunt that cost HD $300 max. The guy has a brand new bike that is less than a year old and HD is 100% screwing him over. Just like the "new" water cooled M8's. It's a seal pressurized system that you cannot service without a special tool from HD. They put it on the CVO's and now it will be on the regular bikes. So if you loose pressure in the system you have to get the bike back to HD where they will charge you $150 an hour labor just to pressurize the system again.
