Default does HD hate the road king?

just saw the 2024's. road glide and street glide look like they got totally revamped. road king special is same old same old. why didn't the road king get the same amount of love? i mean take the fairing off the road glide and it's a road king so it shouldn't have been too hard...

thoughts?

Road King would be fine if they offered the real Road King Classic that looked like a real vintage Harley.

Maybe next year? (But) Why work on something that is still moving out the door for them..?

They don't hate the King.

I think they should have a FLHR instead of the fancy ones

The King still sells as it is, and there's no need to fix something that isn't broken. There are a lot of the 23 down tanks and other tins that would otherwise go to waste. They have the parts to continue making them, so why wouldn't they?

I don't know why they made the Road King Special and the Street Glide Limited / Ultra Limited carry-over models. Hard to imagine what they were thinking. Perhaps they are testing the waters to see how the new fairings would be accepted.

Without the fairing, all they could have done to the Road King Special, would be the new bags and the 117... The 117 would really have been appreciated and I'm pretty sure it would have increased sales.

The last roll out was supposed to herald a whole new era. So we get the new Road/Street Glides, a CVO Pan American and a CVO Road Glide ST. That's it. Everything else stayed the same. (even this year's CVO's look like last year's CVO's).. Not much of a whole new era...

They definitely failed on the price in my opinion. MSRP is $24,999 and with RDRS it’s over $26,000 which makes it more expensive than a SG or RG which includes RDRS and fairing for that price. Not to mention the RK is still a 114 vs. 117 in the SG and RG.

There is (currently) no such thing as a street glide limited. There is an Ultra Limited, which is based on the Electra Glide package before the marketing department dropped that moniker. There is also a Road Glide Limited. The Street Glide is also based on the Electra Glide model lineage. Technically, the Road Glide is too, but it diverged earlier and farther. It is not the other way around.

H-D doesn't hate the King. They just didn't give it enough love as they did with the revamped SG/RG.

As I said in another post, maybe this is a "transition" year like in 2011 when some models got the 96 motor, others the 103, and the CVOs a 110. Then in 2012 everything got the 103 motor. Maybe 2025 will be the same. I have a '13 King and am a chrome guy. Let's hope they put a little shine on that King soon.
