Default Front Fork Alignment

Has anyone dealt with the following and if so, what was the cause and solution?

Put a Pro Action fork kit in. Also had steering head bearings out for inspection. Upon sliding the forks back up, the caps are not even/level with the upper bracket. I am pretty sure it was even when I took it apart but I guess I couldn’t say 100%. Yes I have a service manual. I’ve been bouncing back & forth between the swing back, fork removal and bearing maintenance tasks. I had reinstalled the bearings & stems before putting the forks (and tire of course) back in which, depending on which task in the manual you are looking at, seems to be acceptable. The one thing that bothers me but can’t really say that it created an issue, is that after the initial 35’ lb torque seating of the bearings and backing off, I set the torque wrench for 63’ lb instead of using the inch lb wrench (I overlooked the “inch” in the manual; most things in it are listed in ft lb and I didn’t even think about it right off). I caught the mistake quickly but not after putting way too much on it. I have taken it all back out and reinspected and don’t see or feel anything abnormal but at the same time, I guess I can’t 100% rule it out either. So I am hoping someone has some experience or knowledge with this specific situation and that the uneven fork-to-bracket alignment is something more simple that I am overlooking. Thanks.

The right side is the same as this

I installed high for the pic to be able to see the difference.

I just found a drawing/pic in the manual fork installation task which actually does show an uneven fit. I didn’t notice that the other day. Maybe I’m good then.

Normal ... it's the fork tree/tube rake. People didn't notice until 2014-later with the tube now passing through the upper tree., but it was always there

Thank you. Yeah, I kept looking after I posted and noticed in the manual what I hadn’t noticed before - just what you said - looks to be normal. Extra confirmation is always nice though since I’ve not not this particular thing before so I appreciate your reply

That is normal. Great choice on the Pro-Action kit. Excellent upgrade for the money.

If you have a service manual you would see it in the diagram.

Thank you for your reply Cosmic, but I beat you too it if you look at previous comments lol. But really, I sincerely appreciate anyone that tries to actually share useful info instead of just being an a**. I've dealt with way too many of those idiots, one of whom deleted a comment early in this thread before I had a chance to read it but I'm confident he had nothing good to say anyway.

I've been doing a lot to the bike this Winter and with it up on the lift and a lot of things removed, I try to take advantage and get everything I can while it is disassembled. So I get a few things going on at a time and that makes it ripe for missing/overlooking something in the book which I was guilty of here.

I also appreciate the vote of confidence on the fork kit. It's hard for me to do something different when what I've had has been working ok (not just a money thing but safety too of course and trust in a product/company) but I think I examined it all very thoroughly for a long period of time (in spite of some of those mentioned idiots) and I believe it will be good.
