Hi All
I know these previous versions sucks and develop condensation and stop working before one year from purchase but HD claim these are new design and recent reviews are somehow positive. I am curious if anyone have one (the new design specifically PN 62700194) and can share some experience.
HD claims New and improved capacitive level sensing technology provides the highest degree of accuracy and durability.
I really like the idea of this dipstick and measuring oil level with push of the button but yes old design was big failure seems like.
I just looked into getting one for my 2023 Highway King since the reverse gear set up makes it a bit harder to get to the oil dipstick. I checked on the new one and the part number. I wondered why the local dealers rarely had them. The last dealer I called is the one I trust the most and he told me that even the "new" one is pending to be listed as "obsolete" and that's why they are hard to find. Yikes.. changed my mind since I've had a couple of them in the past and they were only good for about 6 months. You would have to take them apart and clean the "oil mist" out of them and they would work again a short while then go out of service. I wish you luck.
I've learned a long time ago that heat is a killer in anything electronic. It seems like old tech lasts a lot longer, but if you want to get the temp, this place have some good ones. Comes in black or white. No batteries required.

Thanks for sharing this I guess this item is waste of money no matter what they do to it for all these years.

I had JAS one on my Softail before. Product was nice but I didn't like plastic neck insert as it was difficult to remove it to add oil while on the road, it was getting hot and reading the oil level was real pain as it was almost invisible on this stick. Won't be buying this product again for same reasons.
I guess KOSO is alternative that does same thing as OEM item so curious about this one as otherwise I will use what I got. Shame HD can't design something that works properly as idea and functionality is great (when it works) 😄
I have been using one for more than a few years. First one was purchased late 2019 and developed the condensation issue after about 9~10 months I think. I also found that the level indicator display was off.
It was replaced under warranty about 2-weeks shy of 12 months in 2020. It took a bit of arm-twisting at the dealership to make it happen. The second unit has been fine since then.
I don't obsess about it, checking temps it on rare occasions on the hottest / longest days out. I still pull the stick when checking the level to be 100% sure.
