With motor oil that black, filter is going to be fouled out as well, and if you did not change it, then could be only flow through clogged filter is out of the blow by valve, or if wrong filter used, too much flow resistance through the filter and motor not getting enough oil at lower RPM's as well.

I changed the oil last year, 5k miles ago (My first time doing it). Filter was from the dealer.
Checked oil at the end of the ride yesterday (320 miles), was 2 dots below full line on jiffy stand. Same level from when I changed oil 2 days ago.
I think Ill keep checking regularly going forward.
I did not know this. Now I know.
in my truck driving days, we always checked the oil in the morning before we started the truck up That was to make sure we had some Then we would check the oil again after we fuelled up the truck at the end of the day That was to check the level even if we added oil, we would still pop the hood and check the engine the next morning to make sure there were still some in the engine before we cold Started it
Ideally, when you check your oil when its hot, you do it after youre done fuelling and letting the engine sit for about 10 or 15 minutes Its best not to add cold oil to a really hot engine this was always my normal practice on my motorcycles Especially when I was touring Which equated to about 300 miles between oil level checks
1 quart of oil for every thousand miles driven is not considered abnormal by engine manufacturers
Dang…tough crowd… I know everyone is going Gaga over new bikes….I understand it….but this is just for me, that it felt blahhh..nothing extraordinary….it just didn’t deliver Grand American Touring comfort like it’s advertised to my liking. I believe competition makes better bike that is plush from the showroom without forking more dollars. Their bikes sit lower and has more suspension travel than T-Shirt company bikes. Funny they just started making bikes just recently and know what touring actually is. Unlike motor company that touts 100+ years of service.
Again that’s just my humble opinion on a product.
I definitely liked the sport mode (power) and other features, no doubt....but I felt comfortable riding back on my lazy, springy 103 motor. I must say I'm still struggling finding a comfortable after market suspension, I have tried, Legends/ProAction/RWD. Next Supershox or ohlins.

I am pretty sure his comment had nothing to do with the 2024 bikes, more along the lines of your oil maintenance procedures. But it is your bike, treat it how you want.

Ahh Got it...thanks for that....in that case I'm sorry to assume that....
As far as my oil maintenance, I definitely screwed it. I'm just glad I caught it before it did a major damage.
