And no, it's not an indication it will fail in my opinion. It's just something that it does every once in awhile to keep me on my toes.

My 2011 SG does once in a great while. Just have to turn the switch again and she's fine.

This sounds exactly like my softail when the ignition switch started to flake out. Mine was pretty much a hard failure, I could wiggle the switch around and the lights and display would go on and off. Mine did not have terminal screws, it had a 4 or 5 pin connection. I replaced it and haven't had an issue with it since.
