I have a 2019 road glide ultra with boombox GTS and I have two Harley branded SENA 50S headsets I've tried two different helmets with different mike set ups. They each make that popping/clicking sound whenever connected to the WHIM. It sounds like a needle at the end of an old record or liked Monty Python and the holy grail when they're the banging coconuts together. I can also hear my voice echo when on a call and sidetone is disabled.
When connected to my phone or helmet to helmet, there is no clicking/popping sound, so it's obviously something with the WHIM. When I have the intercom sensitivity turned up a bit, you can see the intercom activating in time with the clicking. I've even seen the The intercom indicator blinking with no headsets connected.
I updated the headsets and updated the WHIM. I even factory reset the radio.
I called the Harley dealer and their only response was bring it in and let the tech look at it.
I've tried disconnecting my LED tail light and my dying HD LED headlight, neither of those helped. I disconnected the WHIM and connected it, still nothing. Looks like I might need to try a new WHIM to see if mine is failing.
Not sure what it is, but wired headsets on my UL do the same thing. It seems to happen most when I plug in before I turn on or start the bike. It has to be something in the head unit because it doesn't seem to matter what type of headset you use. It's almost like there is a transient voltage in the system. Maybe it's not grounded well?

I have all VOX options disabled. I've gone through and triple checked my settings. It doesn't seem to be tied to a headset because the intercom indicator will blink even if there aren't any headsets connected. It's so weird. I wonder if there's a way to re-flash the entire radio system.
Is there anyway easy I can test to see if its the radio is or the WHIM that is faulty? I was thinking about buying a new WHIM and returning it if it doesn't fix the issue. I just need to check the return policy.
