'07 FLHTCU question on lifters
I'm new to the group and I have some questions.
I recently upgraded (myself) cams (525 Reapers), bearings, cam plate, oil pump, tensioners and single piece pushrods. All are Feuling products. After priming and installing said parts, I have a sewing machine type noise. I took a short ride around town to try to get oil up top, hoping to quite the noise some. Came home, oil light is on and the noise is still there. I popped off pushrod clips and slid tubes up to inspect while idling the engine. The front cylinder, exhaust pushrod area, was spitting a little bit of oil onto the heat shield. Question I have is, is that a sign of a faulty lifter? If not, what is something for me to look for to eliminate the noise. Thank you.
Hello All,

I wouldn't have taken it on a ride if the engine was making noises AND the oil light was on.... That suggests there is very low oil pressure at the pressure sensor....
That is not a good thing..
You need to verify if you actually have proper oil pressure. Hook a gauge up to the oil pressure sensor port to see what is really going on... It's possible you have a bad sensor.
Once you verify you have proper pressure, then we can then debate the noise, the possible causes, and the possible solutions.
If you don't have proper pressure at the oil pressure sensor port, you need to open up the cam chest and check your work.
In any case, I wouldn't be running the engine any longer than to check oil pressure at the oil pressure sensor port until that issue is resolved.
