I try to drain the battery once in awhile by charging my phone .

Whenever I see some stranded I use to see if still works

Just buy it.

Does completely draining battery once in a while trally do much for battery life?
I've heard about it for cell.phones but then heard others comment that it wasn't necessary.
cessarySo.ething about battery "memory".

i tried to push start mine as well, one guy helping had asthma, i didn"t know that, i thought he was going to die. Like you i am sure we looked like the circus out there, didn’t work. That is when i learned how to jump start a touring bike.

They used to talk about draining battery. I don it to make sure it still works too.

It can be used for phone when power out and best thing for deer hunting since heaters

I just jumped a truck with one 5 year old. But like any battery it has lifespan

[QUOTE=Rounders;21695709]Can only put out as many amps as bike will draw. Plus except for starter, everything is fused.

Would you be afraid to buy to big of battery?

The concern, and I have never been fully convinced is voltage. But a bike has a voltage regulator and both systems run at 14.4 volts

Maybe newer cars that shut the alternator down to 9 volts when not loaded peak higher. I have been meaning to test this

But this concern has been around since the old style alternator

not worth it.

LOL😆 . Yup it was an important lesson to learn. I also carry a miniature motorcycle set of battery jumpers in the saddle bag in case I need a jump. I may make the copper tube extension from the Doc Harley video, it looks like a handy thing to have.

Good job. If I do this I would be inclined to add a final layer of heat shrink on top of the tape. Congrats!

This is awesome! I just ordered these items. Thanks for posting this.

Why add heat shrink? I mean that as a real question to answer.

I think you are saying it as some need to just do something for the sake of doing something.

Electricians will wrap there screwdrivers in tape. do multiple wraps for sake of abrasion protection.
