It happens. We went on a huge run put on by a big, well known club and when we reached our final destination and parked I noticed a RK in the parking lot with it's lights on. After looking I noticed the rider just forgot to turn the key switch off. I did it for him but considering the crowd we were riding with I was hoping nobody was thinking I was messing with it.

I have one very much like that. The one time I needed to use it there was not enough charge to start the motor. And yes, it was fully charged when I first got it. Just my luck.

Thanks for all of the positive comments. I went ahead and ordered one of these jump starters. I also have triple A but Im glad I didnt need them just for this. We rode all afternoon today, stopped for a bite to eat and to get gas, my bike started right up every time, no issues.

In case it hasn't been mentioned, do not have the engine running on the donor vehicle, i.e. car or truck. Too many amps being cranked out.

Amazon Amazon

Here you go if you don't want to build your own jumper/tender cable for the bike, and keep a charged lithium jumper with your bike in the saddle bags.
Amazon Amazon

Hence not hard to just use the starter solenoid positive terminal, and ground on the bike, but with jumper/tender cable already on the bike, make jumping the bike a piece of cake when the battery has problems.

So, just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried to jump using this battery tender connection? As I said, I already have an adapter that would plug into it that came with my battery tender, as long as I'm aware of the cable polarity that is... I did verify that on this adapter I have, sure enough, it would be black to positive, red to negative, thanks BarneyBoy!
I'm also going to look for the starter stud under that boot, it looks kinda tight in there.

I've not seen it first hand, only read about it. Usually it will pop the fuse and at worst burn down the bikes wiring harness.
The battery to starter/frame ground cables are huge and a properly working starter can pull up to 90 Amps through them. A bike with "issues" can pull 250 Amps...
The bike's main harness is rated for 20 Amps max?

It really isn't hard to connect a jump pack (on Touring models anyway). See below.

Regardless of weight,if your bike is fuel injected you can't push start

Boost packs are handy. I did the same thing once

I've never had luck with donor off, need to rev it up too. I am guessing maybe clean jumper cables and battery terminals

Battery packs have gotten small
